Blockchain payments for the rest of us

Product
Overview
Spark set out to bring blockchain payments into mainstream ecommerce. Not as a niche crypto product, but as a low-friction option sitting alongside card and PayPal at checkout. The core product was essentially a payment button: familiar enough for non-Web3 shoppers, with a merchant dashboard behind it for managing checkouts, customer insights and revenue.
Challenge
Crypto products typically speak to people already in the ecosystem. Spark needed to work for everyone else, shoppers with no blockchain knowledge and merchants who just need payments to work. The brand and product both had to strip away the technical noise without losing credibility with the Web3 audience they were also courting.
Approach
Working embedded with the CEO through Haptic, I led three rounds of brand identity development alongside UI work on the checkout flows and merchant interface — translating a technically complex product into something that looked and felt like a considered, trustworthy payments company rather than a crypto startup.
Outcome
A brand and product ready for market, built to make blockchain commerce accessible to merchants and shoppers who'd never consider it otherwise.
